Privacy policy
Medicare Plan Watch (medicareplanwatch.org) helps people with Medicare find out whether their Medicare Advantage plan is changing and what their options are. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information you give us
When you ask for help or for your options, we collect what you type into our forms:
- Your name, phone number, email address (optional) and ZIP code.
- The plan, carrier and county you look up, and whether that plan is changing.
- A record of your consent to be contacted: the exact consent wording you agreed to and the date and time.
Checking your plan without filling out a form does not collect your name or contact details.
Information collected automatically
We use privacy-focused website analytics to count visits and measure page speed. It does not use cookies to track you across other websites. If we run advertising in the future, we may use advertising tags that record that a visit or a form submission happened; we do not send the plan you looked up or any health information to advertising platforms.
How we use your information
- To have a licensed insurance agent contact you about the Medicare options you asked about.
- To help you compare plans and, if you choose, enroll.
- To keep a record of your consent and your request.
- To run, secure and improve this website.
When we share your information
- With licensed insurance agents or agencies so they can respond to your request, as described in the consent you gave.
- With service providers that run our systems for us (for example, website hosting and our customer contact system). They may use it only to provide those services.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights and safety of our visitors and our business.
Calls, texts and emails
If you give consent, a licensed insurance agent may contact you by phone, text message or email about Medicare plan options. Consent is not required to buy a plan. Message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any text to stop receiving texts, or HELP for help. You can also ask us at any time to stop contacting you.
Plan links
Some buttons open an online plan comparison and enrollment tool run by a separate company. Information you enter there is handled under that company's own privacy policy.
How long we keep it and how we protect it
We keep your information for as long as we need it to help you and to meet legal and record-keeping requirements. We use reasonable safeguards, including encrypted connections, to protect it. No method of storing or sending information online is completely secure.
Your choices
You can ask us to update or delete your information, or to stop contacting you, by calling(361) 428-1740 (Mon–Fri 8am–6pm CT).
Children
This website is meant for adults and is not directed to children under 13.
